NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker in Carbon Black

So I bought this eyeliner as part of the cherryculture.com  annual NYX 50% sale. I was super excited about it because I am always looking to try new eyeliners in the hopes of the “perfect one.” Sadly, I dont think this one is it “/ I tried first swiping the brush across the top of my hand, just to see what kind of pressure I’d need to use, and I was happy to find the slightest touch left light color, so I assumed pushing a little harder would do the same to the affect I was looking for.

Applied to my eye and actually found that the tiny precision point made it harder to use than I thought. I had difficulty getting a clean straight line that didn’t tug at my lids or look feathered, but still small. By the time I was satisfied with the look, i had quite a line around my eye. Did some smudging on the bottom, just to clean up the messy look left behind, fighting with my bottom lashes had proven to be difficult, and went on my way.

Now, let me explain what I did that day. Nothing. lol no exaggeration. My fiance had some friends over and we hung out in our garage playing pool. It wasn’t even a hot day. Beautiful Southern California day.. I made it an hour… I could FEEL it melting. I go inside and sure enough! I have a definite black arch on my eyelid. Hmph! All that work and now its all over the place! Thought I could fix it with just a little wipe and NOPE! This stuff was stuck to my lid. Luckily I was home, I had no other choice but to go back to the bathroom and blend that black eyeliner into my pink eyeshadow, therefore creating an ugly mess! No nicer way to put it, lol..

I gotta say, I was really disappointed with this product. It was one of the main things I was looking forward to ordering, but I’m worried that if a nice 70 degree day in a cool garage can cause this eyeliner to melt onto my lid, then what would a REAL Southern California summer day do? Or even worse, CA is a pretty dry state, humidity wise.. I couldn’t imagine using this if I lived in a state like FL or NY that has very high levels of humidity on a regular basis. I’ll probably give it at least one more try.. nothings perfect right? Oh wait.. hmm.. guess the hunt continues..

Wet-N-Wild Trio Eyeshadows

For anybody curious about the quality of Wet-N-Wild’s eyeshadows, I have here their Trio in Silent Treatment

These colors have GREAT pigmentation! Very smooth and silky application. My favorite of the 3 is the shimmery taupe color, but the other 2 accent it so well!

..and the best part? They cost about $3!

  Almay One Coat Dial Up Mascara Review

I came across this mascara during the CVS blowout sale a couple weeks ago and immediately wrote a review, but then of course my computer crashed and this review disappeared(or was eaten by Tumblebeasts) into cyberspace.

I don’t usually buy random mascara’s just because I don’t hold much faith in one single tube.. I use like 3 different kinds on any given day. I need one for volume, one for lenth, and then it seems another to darken them to my liking. So I of course thought, Hey.. 3 click? This is kinda supposed to be like 3 in 1 so why not? Well… it didn’t quite work that way.

Mascara is the last thing I apply. Always. Otherwise fallout gets on my lashes or just messiness FROM the mascara.. you get the idea. So I applied at a 3 click, which is supposed to be “night eyes” or dramatic. Instead it felt more like “Spidey Eyes.” Maybe I shouldn’t have started at the 3, but I never even used 2! lol I had to use the 1 click to wipe off the excess from the 3! Ahhh I hope that made sense”/

Then after all was said and done, I still went back to my handy-dandy go-to mascara and adjusted my spider leg lashes. I even stopped what I was doing to show my fiance the mess it had made. Overall, I might give it 1 more try, at just a 2 click, but if I’m having to limit my usage to the T for this mascara, it’s already too much hassle. And from what I could tell, the 2 click isn’t going to do all for me that I’m wanting anyway.

MAC Eyeshadow in Shroom

Shroom is definitely my go-to shadow. I wear it as a brow-bone highlighter or an all-over base color. I’m very pale and Shroom looks like my skin color with a slight shimmer to it, so it works for both of those very nicely. Lately I have even started using as my face highlighter because I love the light shimmer.

A must-have for you makeup collection. No matter your skin-tone this color will find it’s way onto your face! :)

Olay Complete Moisturizer with SPF

I started using this product about 3 weeks ago and it has completely changed my face! I bought it by recommendation from a friend, and debated between this and the night cream. I am so glad I went with this one! I have used it at night before bed and also for all day use before applying my makeup. When I apply before my makeup I’ve noticed it has helped with the staying power. It’s not leaving my face feeling or looking oily, just refreshed and healthy! I have had so many compliments on my skin and makeup lately. People asking if I’m doing something different.. using this!

Perfect with summer around the corner, this moisturizer has an SPF of 25, and I like that you can even smell it. There is a slight sunscreen smell that I get whiffs of during the day, so I know its still working, but nothing overpowering. I’d describe this as just a clean smell. Also, one of my biggest turn-offs of any lotion, is the feel… lol some people have issues with smells, mine is touch! I touch everything before I use it or buy! lol There is no goopy-gop to this cream. Smooth application and soft to the touch. I bought the small container just because I had never used before, but I know thats going to last me while, I am only putting a dollop from my finger and using it all over. It’s all thats needed ;)

L’Oreal HIP Pigment

I bought this pigment from Walgreens about a month ago and with my computer issues, I hadn’t had time to do a review on it. These pigments normally run about $6-$8 depending on where you buy them, but I was lucky enough to get mine for $3! I bought this pigment in Restless which is what you see above and Tenacious, which I’ll post pics of below this review.

I have to say, I LOVED both of these so much! They are a bit glittery so I was worried about fall out, but I was pleasantly surprised to see very little when I was finished. I chose to use these colors as an all over the lid application and found that the Restless gave me a slight gold sparkle(loved it) while I thought the Tenacious looked a little more bronze and less rust colored(egh.. not so much for me) than it appeared in the packaging.

Overall, I wish there had been more colors when I bought mine, because for $3 I would’ve bought every color they offer! Even at $7 these are a great deal! There is a lot of product and the little brush that comes with each container is a perfect addition. Soft bristles, packed in tight and small wand for close precision. I wish all makeup came with such quality brushes!
